Welcome to the Neighborhood!
FHCCI Children’s Book – Welcome to the Neighborhood
The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana (FHCCI) had the vision to create a children’s book that showcases and highlights diversity in neighborhoods, while being more intentional with their children and young learners, to stress the importance of inclusion for all.
In collaboration with Big Mamma’s House Books®, Welcome To The Neighborhood: Embracing Our Differences! showcases, educates, and highlights diversity, equity, and belonging in neighborhoods for youth, parents, educators, and proponents for housing equality. This story is told through the eyes of Mateo, whose parents desire to move into a neighborhood that makes them feel more welcomed. This will help educate Mateo on things to look for along the way.
This book is available in both English and Spanish. There is a suggested donation of $12 per softcover book to support their work of facilitating open housing for all in their community. Click the button to order a copy for your personal enjoyment.
Now open for agency contracts!
Big Mamma’s House Books is moving the needle as an independent self-publisher. We are actively welcoming new contract partnerships with state and federal agencies to bring diverse, exceptional literature to classrooms, libraries, and public programs. Let’s collaborate on your next large-scale project.
